Zion in 2012

I went to Zion with a few of the most amazing people, we hiked part of the narrows, weeping rock, and   emerald ponds. It was a fun trip.  September 30th was Josh's birthday and his birthday trip was to Zion.  September 30th just happens to be National Park Day, and that was the day we got in free to Zions. Thank you U.S. Government. We left for Nevada in the morning packed into an eleven passenger van. I was seated between Josh and Jacob and we took turns sleeping on each other. Little kids occupied the front seats and had many interesting conversations.  I never grew up with lots of people so at times it can be overwhelming. We spent the weekend with Josh's grandparents.  They have a house with a movie theater in the basement and an in ground tramp in the yard. Most of my time was spent in those two locations.  At night we caught frogs underneath the tramp and scared Josh's mom with our new finds. We stopped at petsmart and I caught a turtle and had fun watching the crazy mice.  Five mice tried to fit in a wheel, the surprising part, they fit, and it moved.  Mice be crazy! It was an interesting trip contrasted next to our family vacations.  We leave between four and six in the morning, in the toyota or chevy.  No more than four passengers are ever present, excluding Smokey the dog. We make very limited stops depending on the duration of the trip averaging one stop per five hours in the car. There is enough room to sprawl out and sleep for a lot of the driving which suits me. Depending on the occasion we pack food but usually stop at the mickey d's. Dad is the driver and keeps the country music playing, sporadic additions of rock do occur. When we were younger we would sit in the backseat and watch movies. There was plenty of teasing, and pointing fingers saying I'm not touching you, but mostly we got along. I love our family trips, and would always look forward to them, most times too excited to sleep the night before. We do a lot of site seeing and stop to look at whatever peaks our interest.
